California’s Voluntary Carbon Market Disclosures Business Regulation Act (AB 1305) took effect on January 1, 2024, and applies to companies that market or sell voluntary carbon offsets in California, companies that purchase or use carbon offsets to make climate-related claims (such as carbon neutrality or net-zero emissions), and companies that make any climate-related emission claims within California.
