Sustainability at KERAMIDA

KERAMIDA ESG Policy

KERAMIDA’s 2023 ESG Policy Report outlines our Sustainability policy and presents the issues that are important (material) to KERAMIDA regarding the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles of Sustainability. The Report also documents the many ESG activities, policies, and initiatives that KERAMIDA has been implementing for many years as part of our overall Corporate Mission.

KERAMIDA ESG Committee

KERAMIDA’s ESG Committee oversees the management and continued improvement of our ESG activities and reports quarterly to our Company’s Shareholders. The members of the KERAMIDA ESG Committee represent all practice areas within KERAMIDA and the Committee is headed by the VP of Human Resources. KERAMIDA’s Shareholders are responsible for the appointment of the Committee members, which will be done annually.

Everyday Sustainability

We believe that small daily actions can help drive bigger change. This is how we build sustainability into our everyday lives at work:

  • Replacing our fleet vehicles with hybrid models

    • We are reducing the carbon footprint of our operations by phasing out gas cars

    • See our 2023 ESG Policy for a breakdown of our GHG Emissions reductions

  • Biking to the office is encouraged! Our Indianapolis Headquarters offers:

    • A company bike available to all employees

    • Upgraded bike rack parking in our garage

    • Showers and changing rooms

  • More sustainable coffee station

    • We’ve eliminated all pod-style coffee systems at our corporate office

    • Our JURA coffee machine is a deliberate step away from ‘throw-away’ style coffee makers

Supplier Diversity Program

KERAMIDA's Supplier Diversity Program was initiated alongside the founding of our company in 1988, and our commitment to Supplier Diversity continues to this day. Over the years, KERAMIDA has hired, mentored, and financially supported several minority-owned businesses (MBE), as well as guided minority-owned companies towards achieving their MBE certification. As a WBE-certified woman-owned company, KERAMIDA has also supported other WBEs through hiring, mentoring and providing financial support, as well as participating in national women business advocacy organizations.

Corporate Social Responsibility

At KERAMIDA, our commitment to being a socially responsible company includes promoting a corporate culture of caring though finding meaningful ways to help our global and local communities. We recruit and hire purpose-oriented employees who help drive our social responsibility goals, with a focus on health, safety, and environmental sustainability. We work with and support various charities and non-profits including the Keramida Foundation, and welcome opportunities to collaborate with local and global initiatives.

Highlighted Sponsorship

KERAMIDA is a major supporter of the Dunes Learning Center (DLC). As Fellowship Sponsors, KERAMIDA pays the annual salary (with DLC match) for an Interpretive Naturalist Fellow to work a full-year program at the Dunes Learning Center.
