Facility Decommissioning Projects

When a large-scale sterilization company vacated a 50,000-square-foot facility located in the U.S. that it had leased for approximately 30 years, it needed a trusted partner to manage a complete decommissioning and facility restoration effort. KERAMIDA led the project as the general contractor and construction manager, overseeing every stage from start to finish.

Hoosier Energy hired KERAMIDA to provide environmental due diligence services and environmental oversight services for the decommissioning and demolition of the Frank E. Ratts Generating Station, which functioned as a coal-fired power plant in Petersburg, Indiana.

KERAMIDA completed the management of a $3M+ decommissioning and environmental remediation project of a former Simon Property Group mall in Little Rock, Arkansas. The environmental issues included PCBs, Lead, Hazardous Chemicals, Asbestos, Petroleum, and Chlorinated Solvents.

KERAMIDA has been contracted to provide a variety of services related to the decommissioning and demolition of portions of the Rolls-Royce complex located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

KERAMIDA served as the general contractor providing decommissioning, demolition and rebuild services to a global company that specializes in industrial sterilization solutions for medical, pharmaceutical, commercial, and food industries. The work included both interior and exterior demolition as well as rebuild activities to return the structure to an empty warehouse.

KERAMIDA provided environmental services associated with decommissioning preparation of three natural gas combustion turbine units located at two active substations. The project included asbestos inspections, lead-based paint inspections, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and concrete sampling.

KERAMIDA was contracted by East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to provide oversight services for the decommissioning of Dale Station, which functioned as a coal-fired power plant in Winchester, KY.

The site was developed in 1902-1903 as the Champion Iron Company, a former foundry and structural iron works facility. KERAMIDA completed the Phase I, Phase II investigation, and asbestos survey for the property and oversaw the site decommissioning and demolition.

KERAMIDA completed environmental assessment and remediation activities for this brownfield site that was an abandoned former gray iron foundry in downtown Richmond, Indiana.
