— Gordon Anderson, STCP/Bechtel Design Manager

Bechtel, the largest construction company in the United States, hired KERAMIDA’s Climate Services team to develop a Sustainability Management Plan for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor project in Los Angeles, a multibillion-dollar mega infrastructure project undertaken by LA Metro in Los Angeles, California. The Sepulveda project aims to connect the San Fernando Valley and Westside through the Sepulveda Pass with a heavy rail/subway system.

KERAMIDA created a Sustainability Management Plan that aims to ensure sustainable project design and operations that will benefit LA Metro, the citizens of LA, and the surrounding environment over the entire life of the project.

Goal: Envision Platinum + LEED Gold

  • KERAMIDA used Envision certification as the foundation for the Sustainability Management Plan. The project will seek the Envision Platinum level, which is the highest level of Envision certification.

  • In addition to Envision, KERAMIDA used LEED for Transit for 8+ occupied structures within the scope of work, with the aim of achieving LEED Gold level of certification.
