International Health & Safety Audits of Data Centers for Digital Infrastructure Company

Project Details

KERAMIDA conducted a comprehensive health and safety auditing project for a global energy and digital infrastructure company that builds and operates state-of-the-art data centers and energy infrastructure for high-performance computing and large-scale Bitcoin mining across North and South America. The scope of work encompassed full-site audits at 18 facilities located in Canada (9 sites), the United States (6 sites), Paraguay (2 sites), and Argentina (1 site).

Project Objectives

The primary objective was to assess each site’s compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards in the U.S. and relevant local regulatory frameworks in Canada and South America. In the absence of a consistent regulatory framework, the OSHA standard was used. The audits aimed to identify compliance gaps, document physical and procedural risks, and recommend actionable mitigation strategies tailored to each jurisdiction.

Audit Approach

All audits were conducted in person by KERAMIDA’s team of certified health and safety professionals over a period of several months.

KERAMIDA’s methodology included:

  • On-site walkthroughs of each facility

  • Interviews with key site personnel and safety stakeholders

  • Detailed documentation review (e.g., SOPs, training records, permits, and incident logs)

Our auditing team applied a consistent and standardized approach across all sites using KERAMIDA’s proprietary digital auditing tool, which ensured efficient data collection, photo documentation, and secure tracking of findings.

Deliverables & Impact

We provided each audited site with a detailed Health & Safety Audit Report, which included:

  • An executive summary highlighting critical and high-priority findings

  • A tabulated list of all observations with:

    • Descriptions of the issues identified

    • Photographic evidence

    • Applicable code citations

    • Specific, actionable recommendations for mitigation or correction

KERAMIDA’s digital auditing tool also allowed centralized tracking and reporting, providing the Client a scalable system for ongoing compliance and follow-up.
