In-Plant Health & Safety Compliance Services for Power Generation Support Company

Overview:

KERAMIDA provided several months of full-time in-plant Health and Safety services and full-time Safety Management on a remote work site for this confidential Client. The Client is a provider of coal combustion product management, mostly for coal-fired power plants looking for solutions for landfilling ash, selling ash, and other beneficial reuses of coal combustion residuals (CCR). KERAMIDA is highly familiar with CCR management and re-use and is up to date on the most current Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) rules for coal ash.

Project Details:

KERAMIDA was initially hired by the Client to provide in-plant services and to be an on-site health and safety presence. The designated on-site KERAMIDA professional was identified as a Health and Safety Officer and was assigned to this project for a period of several months, for an estimated sixty hours per week. Our professionals are familiar with long-term dedication and immersion in compliance projects and work to provide clients with the highest quality in-plant support services.

Our on-site Health and Safety Officer provided comprehensive Health and Safety services to the project team. The scope included, but was not limited to:

  • Health and Safety Training

  • Inspections

  • Compliance Enforcement

  • Program Review and Evaluations

  • Incident Investigations and Reporting

  • Emergency Response

  • Pre-Task Safety Planning

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Assessment

KERAMIDA provided the Client with a designated project officer and on-site Health and Safety Officer, and additional technical staff from KERAMIDA’s professional group were also used for various instances depending on their technical expertise.

KERAMIDA was then asked by the Client to also provide a full-time Safety Professional to oversee the construction of an ash landfill. KERAMIDA’s on-site Safety Professional managed all aspects of the site safety program, including training, audits, reporting and incident management. The Safety Professional evaluated the safety culture of the project team, provided recommendations for improvements, provided safety leadership to the field staff and advised the management on safety best management practices.

KERAMIDA is highly experienced in serving as a resource for dedicated, in-plant and on-site Health and Safety Services for a wide variety of industrial clients. In this instance, the Client was unable to effectively staff the project themselves and relied on KERAMIDA to provide effective and efficient safety management on a remotely located work site.
