KERAMIDA Team Celebrates Earth Day with Tree Planting at Blackacre Farm

This Earth Day, the KERAMIDA team put their values into action.

Last week, KERAMIDA’s team members gathered at Blackacre Farm, the home of CEO & Chief Technical Officer Dr. Vicky Keramida, Ph.D., located just outside Indianapolis, for a day of tree planting and team connection. By the end of the afternoon, 200 trees were in the ground, including chinkapin oak and red oak, contributing to long-term ecosystem health in the region.

Planting trees is one of the most effective ways to improve air quality, support biodiversity, and remove carbon from the atmosphere, making it a meaningful investment in both the environment and future generations.

Working side by side in the field offered something a little different from the usual workday. Colleagues shared conversations while planting, and the hands-on nature of the work made for a grounding reminder of why environmental stewardship matters, both professionally and personally.

After the planting wrapped up, the team gathered for a well-earned meal. KERAMIDA's own Nick McCreary, Senior Vice President, Sustainability, took grill duties seriously, turning out burgers and hot dogs that capped off the day on a high note.

A special thank you to Vanessa Santiago, HR Manager, for handmaking the KERAMIDA branded shirts and for pulling the entire event together, and to everyone else on the team whose hard work and dedication made it all possible.

For KERAMIDA, events like this aren't just a break from the office. They're a reflection of the values that drive our work every day.
