As businesses begin the challenge of reopening facilities at a sustainable yet safe rate, KERAMIDA is applying our public health experience and expertise to the task.

Simon Property Group is a commercial real estate company and the largest shopping mall operator in the United States. The news of the Simon mall reopenings was met with delight by the cooped up public and captured the attention of national media immediately, as was reported on April 28 by CNBC’s Lauren Thomas: The biggest US mall owner prepares to reopen 49 properties. Here’s how that will work.

KERAMIDA, a global environmental engineering, sustainability, and health & safety consulting firm, drafted Simon’s Reopening policies for their world-class malls, nationwide. The policies are for mall reopening and curbside pick-up. Due to the broad application from a centralized corporate directive, policy content was strategically developed to accommodate the varied requirements of local jurisdictions across the nation.

KERAMIDA collaborated with Dr. Jiali Han, Ph.D., to provide epidemiological review and approval of the policies, in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Dr. Han is a professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.

KERAMIDA’s expertise in industrial hygiene, protection of human health, worker safety, and business security and continuity are uniquely integrated into preparing customized COVID-19 policies for clients, worldwide. KERAMIDA’s experts assist clients with both COVID-19 Building Disinfection services, and COVID-19 Reopening Policy preparation.
The Simon Property Group Mall Reopening Policy was drafted by KERAMIDA’s Dan Engling, Certified Industrial Hygienist.
