KERAMIDA Contributes to New Haven ImpaCT 2050 Plan

KERAMIDA Supports Successful Submission of ImpaCT 2050: A Climate Action & Equity Plan for New Haven County, Connecticut to the EPA

KERAMIDA is proud to have supported the development of ImpaCT 2050, a Comprehensive Climate Action Plan for New Haven County, CT, which was recently submitted to the U.S. EPA through the Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program. The plan outlines strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the New Haven–Milford region while addressing the needs of low-income and disadvantaged communities.

ImpaCT 2050 builds on the region’s Priority Climate Action Plan and reflects insights gathered through extensive community and municipal engagement. Public sessions, regional workshops, and stakeholder discussions identified key priorities such as equitable access to clean energy programs, the need for grid upgrades to support electrification, and improved education around recycling, composting, and energy options.

KERAMIDA contributed technical analysis and planning support throughout the process, including GHG inventory refinement, sector-based strategy evaluation, LIDAC analysis, co-pollutant inventory development, regional benefits analysis, and integration of engagement findings into the final plan. The plan assesses emissions across major sectors, including transportation and stationary combustion, industrial, waste management, working lands and forestry, and uses scenario planning to help the region understand how future conditions may influence its ability to implement climate strategies.

Connecticut’s South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG), with support from the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG) and the project partners, has demonstrated strong regional leadership by delivering a plan that positions the New Haven–Milford MSA for future climate action and federal funding opportunities.
