Inside the West Michigan Healthy Climate Plan: A New Video from GVMC & KERAMIDA
/Watch this behind-the-scenes look at how the West Michigan Healthy Climate Plan was developed.
KERAMIDA, in partnership with the Grand Valley Metropolitan Council (GVMC), is excited to announce the release of a new video highlighting the collaborative process behind the West Michigan Healthy Climate Plan, a regional effort supported by funding from the Inflation Reduction Act through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program.
The video, shot and produced by KERAMIDA’s Videography Manager, Josh Grund, showcases how communities across Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, and Ottawa Counties came together to shape a shared vision for a healthier, more resilient future. It illustrates the journey from the development of the region’s Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP), submitted to the EPA on March 1, 2024, to the final West Michigan Healthy Climate Plan, published in November 2025.
Through interviews, visuals, and on-the-ground perspectives, the video tells the story of a community-driven planning process rooted in listening, collaboration, and equity. Viewers see how in-person community feedback sessions, advisory committees, and technical working groups informed strategies designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while delivering tangible benefits, particularly for low-income and disadvantaged communities and historically underinvested areas.
KERAMIDA continues to support GVMC through monitoring pollution trends and tracking the progress of the final plan.
