Third-Party Verification for GSCC® Certification

KERAMIDA is proud to be one of the first GSCC®-approved verifiers for the Steel Climate Standard.

We work with some of the largest steel companies in the U.S. to verify their Company Average Steel Emissions Intensity (CASEI) and validate their Science-Based Emissions Target (SBET), which is required for certification under the GSCC® Steel Climate Standard.

CASEI Verification and SBET Validation

STEP 1: Our team will verify your Company Average Steel Emissions Inventory (CASEI), which includes GHG emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories, from raw material extraction to steelmaking and hot rolling.

STEP 2: Once KERAMIDA has verified your company’s CASEI, our team will review and validate your Science-Based Emissions Target (SBET). The GSCC® Steel Climate Standard requires its member companies to set interim and long-term SBETs. We will review your company’s goals, your documented company-level strategy for reducing GHG emissions from steelmaking, and your company’s expected timeline for implementing changes to operations in order to achieve the planned emissions reductions.

STEP 3: After verifying the CASEI and validating the SBETs, we provide documentation for your company to submit to GSCC® for their final determination. As the certifying body, KERAMIDA will address any questions that the GSCC® technical committee might have during their review.
