Safety Project Coordinator - Indianapolis, IN

KERAMIDA Inc. is currently seeking a Safety Project Coordinator to join our Indianapolis, Indiana office. He/She will have the task of ensuring compliance with federal, state and local environmental and occupational safety regulatory requirements for project to which they are assigned. This role will assist in the ongoing tasks performed by the Industrial Hygiene division of KERAMIDA Inc.

Duties:

  • Identifies and enumerates occupational hazards to minimize incidents.

  • Ensures compliance with federal and state statutory requirements, company policies and practices with regards to safety standards.

  • Perform testing and observations of programs and operations for assigned facilities.

  • Compile testing and observational reports with recommended actions for external facility management.

  • Recommends and supports solutions to improve safety standards for clients.

  • Proactively identifies and resolves safety hazards.

  • Actively coaches and advises site personnel (including contractors) and line management on all safety related matters.

  • Conducts safety related training and ensures training is current and meets regulatory requirements.

  • Works with the other site safety advisors to support safety improvement efforts.

  • Completes internal/external EHS compliance/conformance reports and associated data analysis.

  • Identifies, tracks, and improves on key process metrics.

  • Develops and maintains safety procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory Bachelor's Degree required in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences or Engineering/Science major required; OR a combination of education and related work experience.

  • 3-5 years Facilities Safety or EHS experience is required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, US EPA regulations required.

  • A self-starter, showing good decision making and judgment skills, customer-oriented.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and work well independently or on a team.

  • Able to work in physical plant areas with exposure to outdoor weather and loud noise.

  • Familiar with industrial hygiene testing equipment or transferrable technical experience.

  • Competent in use of office software such as Word and Excel.

  • Advanced education is a plus!

  • Professional certification (CIH, CSP, ASP, Etc.) is a plus.

Environmental Inspector/Stormwater - Lawrence, MA

KERAMIDA Inc. is seeking motivated, qualified and skilled professionals to perform environmental inspection and monitoring services. In particular, our inspectors will oversee contractor implementation of environmental controls and mitigation measures through the performance of daily field inspections, initiate corrective actions where appropriate, and ensure compliance with construction standards and specific contract documents.

Successful applicants will have a college degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Ecology, or a related field, and have two (2) to six (6) years' experience in environmental inspections or a related field. Experience in utility construction is a plus.

Job Description:

  • Working in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

  • Performs work in accordance with safety policies and procedures.

  • Compiles information and prepares construction reports as required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee usually works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

  • Often works around asphalt, concrete, and dust.

Essential Duties:

  • Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the inspection.

  • Inspects for compliance with approved permits, plans and regulations.

  • Prepares reports and performs filing duties.

  • Maintains accurate records of time spent on site, completing reports and mileage for billing/reimbursement by Client.

  • Punctual Attendance at work is essential.

Qualifications:

Specifically, we seek a Lead Inspector who will provide management of and support for several staff persons, as well as oversee a contractor implementation of environmental controls and mitigation measures through the performance of daily field inspections, initiate corrective actions where appropriate, and ensure compliance with construction standards and specific contract documents. 

The successful applicant will have a college degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Ecology, or a related field, possess an active DUAL License from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and have two (2) years' to six (6) years’ experience in environmental inspections or a related field.  Experience in utility construction is a plus.
