Kayla Gibbons is with KERAMIDA’s Indianapolis, Indiana, office and holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from Trine University in Angola, IN, where she also received a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Environmental Engineering. She is a registered Professional Engineer with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering. Ms. Gibbons provides clients with environmental compliance services, including air, water, and waste permitting and reporting, on-site environmental management, and compliance auditing.
Prior to joining KERAMIDA, Ms. Gibbons worked for Rochester Metal Products (RMP) in Rochester, IN. As an Environmental Engineer, she managed and performed all the environmental responsibilities, including stormwater sampling, waste stream sampling, technical report writing, data analysis, and stack testing coordination. With 10 years of experience in the foundry industry, she has a broad understanding of various environmental challenges and effective improvement methods. She also performed on-site training for spill response, RCRA large quantity generator, and DOT shipping. Ms. Gibbons was involved in the Health and Safety programs in the foundry, which included monthly Safety meetings and in-plant Safety audits.
In addition to her environmental expertise, Ms. Gibbons was the Engineering Manager at RMP and has a vast knowledge of how equipment, ventilation, and process flows need to fit together to create an efficient plant layout. She has been involved in numerous projects involving equipment installations, ventilation balancing, process flow redesigns, and employee job function improvements. One of the most recent projects included installing grinding automation equipment and air-cooled helmets for employees in various departments.
