One of the world’s largest manufacturers of decorative chrome-plated automotive parts needed groundwater monitoring at seven locations across Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, and Tennessee. The various sites had up to 86 wells per facility to be sampled. KERAMIDA completed a four-year contract with this automotive supplier to conduct groundwater monitoring at these seven locations.

The Clean Fill Site mistakenly accepted contaminated material from a construction site, and KERAMIDA was contracted to ensure excavation and sampling activities were correctly performed at the landfill.

The site was developed in 1902-1903 as the Champion Iron Company, a former foundry and structural iron works facility. KERAMIDA completed the Phase I, Phase II investigation, and asbestos survey for the property and oversaw the site decommissioning and demolition.

KERAMIDA decreased the cost of operation and maintenance tor this closed landfill by managing the project more efficiently and through the use of new technologies.

KERAMIDA conducted remediation at the Former Concord Foods Facility in Dayton, Ohio. The project included the development of a Health and Safety Plan, development of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, oversight of well abandonment, and excavation of soil exceeding risk-based clean-up limits.

KERAMIDA was contracted to perform a Phase I ESA and Phase II site investigation of the former Jackson Iron and Steel Company in Ohio. KERAMIDA performed delineation of soil and groundwater contamination at the property, conducted an asbestos survey, and performed a pre-demolition survey.

KERAMIDA completed a VAP Phase II Property Assessment at the former Cincinnati Die Cast facility at the request of the City of Cincinnati and a private developer. This site was one of the first to successfully go through the new streamlined Ohio VAP program, and has been highlighted by the OEPA as a case study for how to successfully work through the program.

KERAMIDA completed a VAP Phase I and Phase II for the former Kirby Tire property in Sycamore, Ohio. Surface and subsurface soil samples were collected and groundwater samples were collected from a total of 13 shallow monitoring wells and two bedrock aquifer monitoring wells across the Site.

KERAMIDA completed a VAP Phase II Assessment of the former Hexion Specialty Chemicals facility in Ohio. To evaluate potential contaminants of concern, a push-probe investigation was performed across the Property and a hollow-stem auger rig was used to install VAP-compliant monitoring wells in strategic locations.

KERAMIDA has provided site investigation, remediation, groundwater sampling and analysis, operation & maintenance, and reuse planning for the TSL Superfund Site.

KERAMIDA completed a VAP Phase II Assessment of 15 City of Cincinnati-owned parcels in Cincinnati, Ohio. Phase II activities included push-probe drilling, well installation, groundwater sampling, and asbestos sampling. KERAMIDA then prepared a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for the Site.

KERAMIDA developed designs to remediate issues associated with erosion and slope instability. An innovative design using HydroTurf® Z was implemented and was the first application of HydroTurf® Z in Indiana.

KERAMIDA was retained to investigate the extent of impacts related to the historic operation of a dry cleaner, develop a remedial strategy to address PCE-impacted groundwater and indoor air, and implement the remedial strategy.

KERAMIDA was contracted by East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to provide oversight services for the decommissioning of Dale Station, which functioned as a coal-fired power plant in Winchester, KY.

KERAMIDA provided environmental services associated with decommissioning preparation of three natural gas combustion turbine units located at two active substations. The project included asbestos inspections, lead-based paint inspections, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and concrete sampling.

Hoosier Energy hired KERAMIDA to provide environmental due diligence services and environmental oversight services for the decommissioning and demolition of the Frank E. Ratts Generating Station, which functioned as a coal-fired power plant in Petersburg, Indiana.

KERAMIDA provides environmental inspection and compliance monitoring services for the construction of gas and electric lines facilities for this Power Industry client in seven states (IN, OH, KY, PA, MD, VA, MA).

KERAMIDA completed the management of a $3M+ decommissioning and environmental remediation project of a former Simon Property Group mall in Little Rock, Arkansas. The environmental issues included PCBs, Lead, Hazardous Chemicals, Asbestos, Petroleum, and Chlorinated Solvents.

KERAMIDA performed a complex and multi-faceted Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of a vacant, multi-parcel site which had formerly been used for agricultural purposes, had wetlands on-site, and had experienced a nearby petroleum spill.

KERAMIDA provided environmental due diligence services for a Fortune 200 multinational healthcare company. KERAMIDA performed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) on two of the Client’s office buildings. The Phase I determined the presence of Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) based on historical commercial and industrial uses of the site. It was determined that vapor intrusion (VI) posed a potential concern at the site.

This 13-year project began In 2006 when OmniSource hired KERAMIDA to perform Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, complete an Investigation Work Plan and a Remediation Work Plan (RWP) for the former Bridgeport/Olin Brass Site.

Following the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, KERAMIDA immediately assisted Simon Property Group in the storm relief efforts at Prien Lake Mall in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Services include: Building Damage Assessment & Assess Extent of Water Damage; Immediate Environmental Assessment; Visual Mold Assessment; Asbestos Inspection of Impacted Materials

KERAMIDA served as the Turnkey General Manager for this multimillion-dollar project. The City of Indianapolis was interested in finding a new purpose for the old landfill to benefit the neighborhood. The City hired KERAMIDA to plan the repurpose, remediate the landfill, and manage the reuse construction activities. The result is a beautiful park, with an acre and a half children’s playground.
