IDEM & City of Indianapolis: The Indiana Shadow Environmental Bar Meeting

IDEM.png
Indianapolis-city-logo.jpg

This Shadow Environmental Bar meeting will focus on the hiring of a private law firm to defend placing ash from the incinerator on the former site of City sludge lagoons. A local environmental group seeks to preserve these historic lagoons, using the rallying slogan “We’ll kick your ash clean out’a town!” The City’s former administrator of the Division of Water and Land Protection, Vicky Keramida, will donate her time to moderate the session and be on hand for questions. Her answers are always insightful and well thought out, and thus obviously not the official positions of either IDEM or the City of Indianapolis.

GPRS - Brownbag Presentation for KERAMIDA Employees

GPRS.png

GPRS talked with KERAMIDA’s LAND Group about various equipment and methods for identifying utilities, USTs, fill areas and other anomalies. Knowing where utilities are and at what depth, not only avoids problems with drilling and safety considerations, but is critical in further development of our Sites, Conceptual Site Model (CSM) for Vapor Intrusion, as well as remedy considerations.

This brownbag series for LAND is not only a team building opportunity with vendors of KERAMIDA, but also a great way for employees to improve their understanding of how they collect data, what vendor packages are given to us and what KERAMIDA does on advancing their projects using these packages.

American Foundry Society - 2018 Advanced Foundry Environmental Air Seminar

This seminar is for individuals with a basic knowledge and understanding of EPA air regulations and air emission calculations. This two-day seminar will cover four main topics: emission estimation, permitting, regulatory requirements, and compliance demonstration. For each topic, classroom instruction will be followed by a working group session where the class will be divided into subgroups to complete a hypothetical foundry air emission problem relating to that topic. Results will be reported to the class.
