Beautiful Woodlawn / KERAMIDA Inc. - Environmental Field Day

Beautiful Woodlawn encouraged all residents and local businesses to attend the first Environmental Field Day! Residents and local businesses got a first hand opportunity to learn about brownfield sites in Woodlawn. They also learned the environmental forces that create brownfields, the environmental challenges in cleaning brownfields up, and how we can prevent brownfields from occurring in the future. The Village of Woodlawn appreciated resident and business input on what sites the Village should focus on in addition to the Borden site.

KERAMIDA, Woodlawn's Environmental Protection Agency consultant, answered questions, provided a tour, and demonstrated how soil and ground water is collected and analyzed. Lunch and light refreshments were served.
