Inaugural GermanFEST 5K Lederhosen Lauf for
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International

Downtown Indianapolis hosts a variety of unique races each year ranging from the nation's largest half marathon to your backyard benefit run. As such, we decided to continue to take part in what already defines downtown Indianapolis by hosting a 5K race during the annual GermanFEST event in order to raise and continue awareness for a great cause. The Indiana German Heritage Society (IGHS) and the Athenaeum Foundation sponsored the inaugural Lederhosen Lauf (5K run/walk) located at the site of one of the most famous German-American buildings in Indianapolis - the Athenaeum/Das Deutsche Haus which is home of the Rathskellar restaurant.
